Why I'm Bilingual and Bicultural...
I grew up in New York, attending public school during the week and Japanese school on Saturdays. At home and on Saturdays, I was immersed in Japanese. Spending summers with relatives in Japan also helped.
After graduating from college and law school, I lived and worked in Tokyo for four years. I came back to New York with the sense that I was leaving part of myself behind, but going back often helps.
I worked in law, fashion editorial, and cosmetics before discovering that my true calling is helping people to communicate in English and Japanese.
Since 2000, I've been an independent interpreter and translator. I enjoy working with clients from diverse fields including cosmetics, finance, government, law, and non-profit.
My favorite assignments are long-term projects where I can become a valuable team member who engages on a deep and continuing level with ongoing projects.
Clients say I'm responsive, knowledgable, enthusiastic, and easy to work with.
